ALANG FORT :- ONE OF 350 FORTS .
ALANG FORT one of the beautiful fort of Maharashtra situated in Ambevadi, Nashik.One of the love of trekkers.
Geography And Location
It is located at Ambevadi,Nashik.It is situated in kalsubai range at westernghat. Alanggad, Madangad and kulanggad lies together at some distance and together called as AMK .It is a hill fort. It is about 4500 .It is made up of stone and lead.AMK lies in Western Ghats.In it's east it lies kalsubai ,in its north there is harihar and in its south there is Harishchandra gad.
There are two caves which can accommodate 40 people.It also had a small temple.There is also 11 water cisterns .
It is one of the challenging treks . It is difficult to reach. It takes 2 hours for a trained trekker
History
It history tells us about it had been built by Maratha Empire .It is said that it is used by Maratha Empire to keep check on enemy .Specially it is used during British period by Maratha . As Maratha were excellent in climbing it was needle like thing to them to climb the fort.
Today's Condition
Its today's condition is poor because no one went there as it is located at high places .It is now owned by government of India.
It is a difficult trek to climb because it has poorly marked trail .There is lack of availability of anything.
How to reach
It is in Ambevadi ,so we can reach through Ambevadi road.Another way is ghatghar road via ghoti bhandar-dara road . There is also a road via udadvadegoan .It take 2 and half hour to reach their from main road of Nashik.
By train or bus kasra or Igat puri way is there By bus ghoti to Ambevadi there is way of 32 km.
Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit is after monsoon i.e approx month. Because in monsoon its way get slippery which risk the life.
And in summer it may cause dehydration over there because lack of water and availability of anything may risk the life.
So pay a visit but with guidance.
