AKLUJ FORT :- ONE         OF 350 FORTS.

       AKLUJ Fort is one of the gift to land of Maharashtra .

Geography and Location

t is located in AKLUJ taluka,Solapur .That is why it is called as AKLUJ Fort.It is approx .1598ft. and it is made up of stone.It is type of hill fort.

How To Reach 

        It is nearest town to Solapur .It is located near River Nira .The nearest airport at 170 km . Nearest railway station is Babulgaon railway station.Nearest Bus stand is Akluj bus depot.

History 

          Its builder is not known.Its restoration is done with the help of local people by Shree Dinkaroa Thopte and Avinash Thopte.

          It is said that Sambhaji Maharaj along with 26 other mavalas brought here by Makran Khan on order of Aurangzeb from Sangameshwar.

Places to see in Fort 

          There are many idols of fibres depicting life of Shivaji Maharaj.It take one hour to roam on fort .

 Today's Condition 

            It is now owned by government of India.

It is well maintained and in good condition.
